
Start Somewhere Cowl – Beginners Knitting
Starting something new can be scary. A new job, a new relationship, a new
hobby: where to start? All the experts agree: start somewhere. This workshop is
designed to help start off your love affair with knitting with a simple, stylish garment
that sneaks in the vegetables: fundamental skills. Soon you’ll be whipping up
beanies, jumpers…but just start here.
Materials Provided
Each student will receive a kit including:
• 6.5mm circular knitting needle
• 100g Eden wool yarn
• tapestry needle
• instruction booklet
Pen and scissors will be provided to borrow.
The class will run from 10am-1pm. Tea and Coffee will be provided .
Teacher bio
Pru Raymond is a qualified educator and creative who has been knitting since
childhood. Knitting is her daily mindfulness practice, a creative outlet and an act
of craftivism. She values her knitting workshops as a space for people to expand
social and neural connections through creating.
Working with children and young adults:
As an experienced teacher with a current SA teaching registration and current
police clearance, I am highly qualified to teach children and young adults.
