Single Pattern – Knitspot – Crazy Quilt Scarf

The main stitch pattern of this scarf is reminiscent of a crazy quilt, with its erratic changes in direction, but is balanced by an orderly border of garter rib at each hem. The motifs pop in a solid yarn, but are strong enough to stand up to one that has some texture or color variation. This scarf is a fun project that knits up quickly and is highly portable – it’s the perfect piece to work on while watching TV or spectator sports. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size. 

Gauge: 18 sts and 26 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on smaller (body) needle 

Finished Measurements: 8 inches wide and 64 inches long (washed and blocked) 

Materials Used: 400 yards of any DK/light worsted yarn that knits to pattern gauge 

Needle Size: 8US (5mm) for hems (or one size larger than body needle) AND 7US (4.5mm) for body (or size to obtain correct gauge)
