Single Pattern - Lisa Chemery - Mithril

Mithril by Frogginette. “Bilbo unwound several folds of old cloth, and held up a small shirt of mail. It was close-woven of many rings, as supple almost as linen, cold as ice, and harder than steel. It shone like moonlit silver, and was studded with white gems.” In the Lord of the Rings, Bilbo gives his nephew, Frodo, a lightweight and immensely strong mithril chain “shirt” to use as armor as he sets out on his quest. This sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. The yoke is first worked flat to the bottom of the front slit, then worked in the round. The sleeves are then separated from the body, which is worked in the round to the hem. The sleeves are worked in the round, with two length options. An I-cord bind off finishes the neckline and the hem.
