It’s Time to Show Off Your Chook
Got a knitted or crocheted chicken? Made it yourself? Given it a name? Grown emotionally attached? Now it’s time to let your feathered friend strut their stuff in our inaugural Chook Show.
For one glorious week, our store will be transformed into a chook display of magnificent proportions. Emotional Support Chickens from across Adelaide (and beyond!) will be on display, vying for glory, prizes, and eternal bragging rights.
The Categories
Our special panel of Chook Aficionados will be judging across five prestigious categories:
Queen of Chooks
The ultimate title. Most ready to give hugs and make everything feel better again.
Most Likely to Cross the Road
For the chook with wanderlust in their eyes and adventure in their heart.
Most Likely to Rule the Roost
For the chook who knows they’re in charge and isn’t afraid to show it.
This Chook Got Rizz
Charisma. Charm. That certain something. You know it when you see it.
Best Resting Hen Face
The chook who’s seen it all and isn’t impressed.

Who Can Enter?
Everyone! If you’ve got a handmade Emotional Support Chicken (or any knitted or crocheted chicken!), your chook is welcome to compete. Made it in a class, made it at home, made it years ago and it’s been sitting on your shelf waiting for its moment – all chooks are eligible.

How to Enter
Fill out the entry form below so we can match your chook to you! We’ll need:
• Your name
• Your email and phone number
• Your chook’s name
• A bit about your chook (optional – but we’d love to hear their story!)
• How you’d like your chook returned (pick up in store or post)
Drop Off Your Chook
Chooks need to arrive at Yarn Trader by Wednesday 16th September so we can get them settled and ready for their big week.
You can drop your chook off in store, or post them to us (make sure they’re well wrapped for the journey!).
Getting Your Chook Home
Pick up in store: Chooks will be available for collection from Tuesday 6th October.
Return by post: If you’d like your chook posted back to you, please include a prepaid return postal satchel with your entry. Pop your address on it and we’ll send your feathered friend safely home after the show.
